✿Daily Thoughts | Out of Town✿

Hi guys,

Nothing special today, just wanted to give you a heads up on what's going on. As you may already know, my husband has been so kind and has offered to get me a lighting kit for Valentine's Day. As excited as I am about that, I know we are on a tight budget with the house breaking ground this week, meaning the 90 day countdown starts soon for our new house.

That being said, I told him, "thank you, but I think I need to reappropriate that money towards something more critical.... luggage." Lol. I have luggage, and my main large suitcase, I adore, and don't need to replace. However, I cannot say the same for my carry-on luggage. I will be travelling for a few days in February and for 3 full weeks at the beginning of March for work. To top that off, I am already booked to travel to New York City for the very first time to attend our good friends wedding up in Westchester. So I will be on travel the ENTIRE month of march. I'll be here for the 1st-2nd and the 24th-25th. A total of 4 days. I'm even missing my husband's 31st birthday (March 4th). :(

I'm pretty sad about it, but luckily, I opted to come back the 23rd versus the 24th, which is what they originally had me scheduled for, so that I could be here the 24th, for our 1 year wedding anniversary. It's unfortunate with the timing, but that is typically my luck. I started my first day of work at my new job on my birthday (Sept. 24th). I usually take that day off, but fate had me scheduled for a new job instead. ;)

Anyway, long story short, no lighting kit for now, maybe after the new house. Also, I will not be posting as much while I am on travel. I will take my iPad and maybe film some tag videos, definitely some vlogs, but I won't have my filming equipment to do tutorials or anything that requires extensive editing, high quality video, good lighting or close up shots. Luckily, my iPad has a great camera and a pretty basic version of iMovie to do simple editing, so I will try to film while I'm there, but I can't guarantee anything. At most, I can vlog.
Maybe I'll even do a "What's in my travel bag" video. lol.

Thanks for reading! If you guys have any travel tips for long trips, please let me know. The longest I've travelled was 10 days. I have no idea how to pack for 3 weeks. I'm a big nervous about it too. Also, since not many people read my blog, I may do a quick video announcement when it gets closer to my travel dates!

♥Eye Tutorial | L'Oreal Infallible "No Brush" Everyday Smokey Eye♥

I have been a fan of using my Infallibles with my fingers since I bought my first one, but I've yet to share a tutorial using this method. After my stint with pink eye, I was forced to use my fingers for an entire week to avoid the daily sanitation of brush that touches my face. I was even asked by a subscriber to do a tutorial on how to apply eye shadow with my fingers, so I decided to share my "pink eye" look.

Luckily, my "pink eye" look is a great daily look, even if you don't have pink eye. lol.

This video is longer than most tutorials, as I go into the details of application as well as the "swirl and dab" method of using your fingers in the product.

♥Influenster | Goody QuikStyle Paddle Brush♥

Hi guys,

Doing another review, and I hate to say that this is not a positive one. I was actually not a fan of this brush. :(

First and foremost, I do not like to brush my hair while it is still wet. I either use my fingers or a wide tooth comb to get the tangles out before I blow dry. You should never brush or pull on your hair when it is wet, because your hair is more ellastic and you can actually stretch our your hair follic and make it weak. That, in turn, made me hesitant to use it in the first place.

However, I went ahead and tried it out anyway, and to my dismay, it didn't do anything except cause static. It did not help dry, but almost made my hair staticy once it was dry.

The brush is designed to have absorbant microfiber in between the bristles to help absorb water as you brush. As you brush the microfiber bristles will actually smash down. This is an eassy fix, as you just tap the brush on the counter, and they will pop back up into place. I've included a before and after, but as you can see, some bristles didn't even touch my hair, so they are still sticking up.
I was pretty sad about it, because I love all of the other Goody products. I have a lot of their clips, hair ties, and even their regular paddle brush. Goody is a really great, affordable, drug store brand, and I highly recommend their other products, but I definitely don't like this one.

✿Influenster | NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine Review✿

Last month I received my Holiday Vox Box and the best part was the beauty samples. One of them was the NYC Liquid Lipshines. If you've been following me for a while, you know I love their eye shadow quads and nail polish, but now I have become a fan of their lipgloss!

The lip gloss shade I got from them was the Nude New York. It is definitely more sheer than I expected, but the selling point for me was the scent and the texture! It smells sweet, like cady, and has a smooth texture. It is very shiny and glossy, but not sticky or tacky.

The applicator is pretty unique as well. It doesn't have your typical angled doe foot applicator. The applicator is actually elongated, straight and rounded at the tip. The coolest part, though, is that the applicator tip is flexible. It is bendy on the end and provides great precision.

I'm definitely a fan and plan to check out other shades. Best part, they are super affordable. They only cost $2.49 (http://bit.ly/10cwV7v).

So... I needed new foundation and took this opportunity to try out a bunch of new stuff, and get some things I have been eyeing for some time now. This haul is unique, however, as I bought multiples of different categories of makeup. For instance, I think the cashier was confused when she saw I was buying 3 foundations. I filmed this entire vlog using my new mini iPad. The coolest part?! I even edited the entire thing on my iPad. I think it was so great, I think this might be my permanent vlogging camera and editing tool.

Hope you guys like it! The iPad has a much better motion stabalization feature than my cell phone and point-and-shoot combined!

Today, I got out of bed at noon, after travelling all day on New Years Eve, getting home at 11:35pm, just in time to watch the ball drop. So, after getting up with greasy plane hair and no makeup, I thought, "let's film!"

Super exciting to see that as an early Christmas gift, I got my Holiday Vox Box. I was so excited, I filmed as soon as I realized it was here... Even if it was at 1:30m in the morning.

So far, I have tried the lipgloss and the hair brush. I didn't notice much of a difference with the brush, but I really love the lipgloss. It's not sticky or tacky. It is on the sheer side, but it is a really nice nude and goes well over any color.

 

I will be trying out the Kiss nail dress this next weekend and trying the energy drink and oatmeal soon. I love Quaker oats anyway, so I imagine it's awesome!
